Mastering Python Automation: A Guide for Testers

Remember those days as kids when we’d see our friends playing a game we knew nothing about? We’d watch with excitement, curious to learn so we could join in. That’s how we felt as functional QA testers in a team of 20+ developers, and part of 2700+ employees at Murex, when developers discussed Python code in meetings. We couldn’t fully contribute, and it was challenging to participate.

We decided to change the game. We started a collective learning journey to master Python and bridge the gap between QA and development. Through collaborative learning sessions within our team, we dove into variables, loops, functions, and testing frameworks.

The results were game changing. We began actively participating in technical discussions, understanding the code we were testing, and building stronger relationships with developers. But the benefits didn’t stop there. We unlocked the power of test automation. We streamlined repetitive tasks, freed up time for strategic testing, identified bugs faster, and even developed new testing tools. Python became our secret weapon for boosting efficiency and effectiveness.
