Go With The Flow! A Testers’ Guide To Postman Flows

Low code tooling has come a long way. With the rise and rise of the “citizen developer”, tools like Postman Flows are predicted to be the major way applications are built within the next 10-15 years. They are not the best solution in every case, but if we’re aware of their capabilities and shortcomings, we can add them to the mental toolkit and hopefully use them to do some cool things at work, both now and in the future.

For example, did you know Flows is the only way you can call multiple API’s from different collections at the same time in Postman? Did you know you can generate Webhooks in order to run Flows through your CI pipeline? How about generating Test Data using a third party API such as OpenAI and using that in your API workflow seamlessly? Join Beth Marshall in this 90 minute workshop as she takes a look at Flows, Postman’s latest beta feature for low/no code API workflow development and testing. REQUIREMENTS:

Equipment: Laptop will be required for this session and a Postman account. Details will be forwarded once participants are confirmed.

Experience level: You need to have used Postman before as knowledge of the Platform itself as things like “collections” and “Environments” and “tests” will be assumed. There won’t be time to explain this during the workshop.

Who should attend? Flows is for “citizen developers” as well as experienced technical professionals, so Quality Engineers, those who frequently interact with/test APIs but also Business Analysts and wider business users who can quickly upskill to use this feature.

Who will benefit?  Attendees who have used Postman before for their testing efforts and wish to explore its latest features. Testers of all levels of experience should get something from the workshop, as there may be benefits even for experienced Quality Engineers.
